KUALA LUMPUR – Puteri Umno today launched the Peace4Palestine fund to raise funds to help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people affected by the conflict in Gaza.

Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi, who heads the women’s youth wing, said the setting up of the fund was agreed upon in a meeting today.

“Our target is to collect about RM200,000 from our 191 divisions nationwide, but we are hoping to collect more than that because Puteri Umno has a strong spirit,” she said in a press conference after the meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn here.

Nurul Amal said the corporate sector and public are also welcome to contribute towards the fund, with all contributions channelled through Pertubuhan Sukarelawan Generasi Anak Muda’s Public Bank account number 5040129819.

“Puteri Umno will communicate with the Foreign Ministry for the purpose of channelling these contributions to the Palestinian authorities,” she said.

Nurul Amal said in addition to the fund, the wing’s meeting today also agreed to hold the Puteri Sambung Belajar programme at UTMSpace through a collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

“This collaboration is aimed at providing a platform for Puteri Umno members to further their studies to higher levels such as bachelor’s, master’s and PhD degrees while they are also working.

“This is in line with the tagline to empower Puteri Umno members and for a start, it will be targeted at the Puteri Umno executive council before being offered to all state-level members,” she added. – October 20, 2023
