Cops receive 67 reports over matter involving e-commerce firm linked to MYAirline co-founder

5:27 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Numerous investors in i-Serve Online Mall Sdn Bhd, an e-commerce company linked to MYAirline co-founder Datuk Allan Goh Hwan Hua, have lodged reports to police alleging a total loss of RM81,609,900.

Bukit Aman’s commercial crime investigation department director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said authorities received a total of 67 reports on the matter.

“We have opened the investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code (for cheating).

“We urge other victims to immediately step forward and file a report,” Ramli said at a press conference today.

Meanwhile, Goh, his wife and his son are being investigated under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Last month, police confirmed the arrest of Goh and two family members. They were detained to assist in investigations under the act and were subsequently released on police bail on October 30.

On Wednesday, the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) suspended MYAirline’s Air Service Licence (ASL) to protect the interests of passengers and employees affected by the airline’s sudden suspension of operations.

Mavcom disclosed it had issued a show cause letter to MYAirline on October 13 instructing the airline to provide a written response within 14 days.

The show cause letter highlighted MYAirline’s failure to comply with its ASL conditions and the abrupt suspension of operations on October 12. — November 3, 2023
