Gua Musang MP plans to sue Bersatu info chief for ‘bribe for support’ slander

Mohd Azizi Abu Naim strongly denies being offered inducement to declare backing for PM

11:05 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim has stated his intention to sue Bersatu’s information chief Razali Idris following the latter’s allegation that his declaration of support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was done following an inducement.

Denying that he was being offered any consideration in return for the support, Azizi described Razali’s accusation amounting to slander.

Azizi (above) said the accusation amounted to slander and denied being offered any kind of consideration.

“This is wrong and is the worst slander (I have received).

“I will file summons against him (Razali) for accusing me of receiving a bribe,” he was quoted as saying when contacted by Malaysiakini.

On November 11, Razali reportedly claimed that the four Bersatu MPs declaring support for Anwar had been induced to do so, with elements of graft involved.

In addition to Azizi, the remaining three Bersatu MPs include Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid , Labuan MP Suhaili Abdul Rahman, and Jeli MP Zahari Kechik.

Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had earlier said that the party will lodge police reports and file complaints with the Malaysian anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in relation to  alleged graft and blackmailing in covertly getting the party’s MPs to support Anwar. – November 15, 2023
