Don’t panic: rainy day, long queues ahead of Coldplay concert no issue for fans

Concertgoers ready for an adventure of a lifetime, some queuing as early as midnight

KUALA LUMPUR – With less than six hours to go before Coldplay takes the stage, concert goers are braving the rain to collect their wristbands with mixed experience.

Influencer Joanna Joseph, who was the first in line, tweeted that she started queuing at 12am even though the ticket counters are only open at 12pm.

“If you are in the Higher Power zone remember to redeem your wristbands first before standing at the gate! There’s been a bit of confusion because many people are already queuing at Category 3 and it’s a mixture of Higher Power and the normal GA (general admission) zone.” 

Meanwhile, the queue for Infinity ticket redemption has been growing since 1pm as concert goers have to show proof of identification before being handed the tickets.

Freelance photographer, Farah, 29, said it was easy for her to redeem her Infinity tickets, as she brought along her ID as per Live Nation Malaysia’s announcement. The redemption process only took her around three minutes but the queue to get to the counter took up a long time.

Also, Scoop spotted two people having some trouble trying to redeem tickets for the Enhanced Experience zone on behalf of their friends who are not here yet.  

However, they were not allowed to do so as per the organiser’s guidelines.

There were also food and drink stalls lining up the path from the Bukit Jalil LRT station to the stadium, while enterprising youths were spotted selling disposable raincoats.

The queue for fans to score some official merchandise remains long. – November 22, 2023
