OKU card holders to get free rides on public transport under Prasarana in Klang Valley from Feb 1 | Scoop

OKU card holders to get free rides on public transport under Prasarana in Klang Valley from Feb 1

Currently, they enjoy 50% off adult fare for LRT, Monorail, BRT, MRT, RapidKL and MRT feeder buses

11:41 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Individuals with the OKU card will get to enjoy free rides on public transport operated by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd in the Klang Valley area on February 1 onwards, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Currently, concession cardholders enjoy 50% off adult fare for LRT, Monorail, BRT (bus), MRT, RapidKL and MRT feeder buses.

Loke said the eligibility, terms and conditions of the free rides will be announced by Prasarana in the near future as time is needed to update the ticketing system.

“This is an important initiative even though there is a financial implication to Prasarana. I told Prasarana to inform its board (of directors) that CSR is important and it aligns with the principles of the Madani government.”

Earlier, Loke launched the Women’s Coach pilot project for the Kajang MRT line at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn MRT station in Cheras here.

He added that the pilot project would be expanded to the Putrajaya MRT line. – December 21, 2023
