Traffic jams in Sandakan after deluge floods roads

Main route connecting residents to town affected, leaving vehicles stranded

2:23 PM MYT

SANDAKAN – Several roads here are inundated following continuous heavy rain that started at 9am, causing traffic congestion this morning.

The affected areas are Jalan Utara between Mile 1 and Mile 3, Bandar Maju, Duchess of Kent Hospital, Mile 7’s Bulatan Helang, Taman Fajar and Jalan Army Camp.

The rain has stopped as of 1.20pm today, but the roads are still flooded.

In videos circulating on WhatsApp, vehicles can be seen stranded along Jalan Utara Mile 2. Jalan Utara is the main road connecting residents to Sandakan town.
