Kapar air crash: autopsy and victim identification scheduled for tomorrow

The victims' families are expected to be present during the autopsy and identification process

KUALA LUMPUR – The autopsies of the two victims from the plane crash on Jalan Benteng Kanan, Kampung Tok Muda in Kapar today, are set to take place tomorrow at 8am at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), Klang.

Sources at HTAR have indicated that the victims’ families are expected to be present during the procedure.

Additionally, the next of kin will participate in the identification process tomorrow.

“The autopsy is scheduled for 8am tomorrow, and the family (of the victim) will be present at HTAR. The identification process will also be conducted tomorrow,” an official said.

Yesterday, the bodies of the plane crash victims, identified as pilot Daniel Yee Hsiang Khoon, 30, and co-pilot Roshaan Singh Raina, 42, were retrieved from the wreckage of the BK160 Gabriel light aircraft at 8.11pm. 

The victims, both members of the Air Adventure Flying Club, were engaged in a recreational flight when the tragic incident occurred.

Selangor police chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that both victims were discovered in the cockpit, with the wreckage submerged over two metres, or approximately 45% in the ground.

“The discovery was made at 2pm,” Hussein said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has officially confirmed that two individuals, including a pilot, were on board the aircraft. 

The CAAM noted that no emergency call was received from the light aircraft before the crash. – February 13, 2024
