Thunderstorms, heavy rain to hit parts of peninsula and Sarawak

However, northern peninsula and Sabah may face sweltering temperatures of up to 35°C

1:55 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The west coast and interior of Peninsular Malaysia are expected to face heavy rain and thunderstorms today.

In a statement, the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) also forecasted similar weather for several areas in Sarawak.

“According to the analysis of weather models, winds are expected in central and south Sarawak.

“This could potentially produce thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds, especially in the afternoon, and can last until the early morning tomorrow.

“Thunderstorms and heavy rain with strong winds also have the potential to occur in several places in the inland and western peninsula.”

Meanwhile, MetMalaysia expects dry and hot weather in Sabah and the north of the peninsula, with temperatures reaching 35°C.

The department also advised the public to refer to www.met.gov.my, its social media platforms, and the myCuaca application, for the latest information. – February 25, 2024
