KUALA LUMPUR – Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh assures fans that the Bukit Jalil National Stadium football pitch is primed and ready for the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup/2027 Asian Cup qualifier clash between Malaysia and Oman tomorrow night.

Taking to her social media platform today, Hannah provided a glimpse of the pitch’s pristine condition as of 8.40pm, dispelling any concerns.

She emphasised that the pitch has received the FIFA Match Commissioner’s (MC) seal of approval for the upcoming match.

“The FIFA Match Commissioner (MC) barred both the national team and Oman from training at the SNBJ due to adverse weather conditions in the evening.

“SNBJ’s field has also received MC approval for the match,” she said in her post.

In the same post, Hannah also rallied fervent support from the Harimau Malaya faithful, urging them to flock to the stadium and rally behind the national team as they gear up for this crucial fixture.

Earlier today, Oman coach Jaroslav Silhavy expressed disappointment at being unable to train on the Bukit Jalil pitch due to what he described as unfavourable conditions.

Instead, his team opted for training at the MBPJ Stadium, while Harimau Malaya trained at Wisma FAM.

Hannah’s reassurance today follows her recent clarification regarding the authenticity of a viral photo circulating on social media, purportedly depicting the stadium’s poor state.

She affirmed that the image was outdated, putting to rest any lingering doubts.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Stadium Corporation chairman Datuk Hans Isacc echoed Hannah as he told Scoop that the field has been approved by the match commissioner, which is important.

“We hope Malaysian supporters will ‘banjir’ SNBJ to support the team and we end the night with a win.” – March 25, 2024
