Capal merupakan alas kaki tradisional bagi orang Melayu. Pada satu masa dahulu, capal menjadi popular dalam kalangan bangsawan Melayu, dan ia kekal dipakai dalam kehidupan seharian pada era 1980-an. Kini, capal juga dipakai bersama sepasang baju melayu sempena Hari Raya Aidilfitri.Pemilik Capal Kancil Emas, Wahab Syamaruddin, yang merupakan generasi kedua dalam pembuatan capal, meneruskan legasi bapanya yang mengusahakan pembuatan itu sejak 1969. Kedainya terletak di dalam Pusat membeli belah Keramat. Setiap tahun, beliau menerima permintaan tempahan seawal 3 bulan sebelum bulan puasa. SHOEMAKER Rizuan Wahab of Capal Kancil Emas focuses on completing custom “capal” orders as Aidilfitri approaches.

Every year, this store, located in a shopping mall in Keramat, would receive orders as early as three months before Ramadan – unsurprising for one of the most renowned capal suppliers in Klang Valley, operating since 1969.

The capal, or traditional open-toe leather sandals, are a popular men’s footwear choice for Aidilfitri due to their convenience, apart from their sleek and casual look.

The sandals are the perfect match for traditional clothes like Baju Melayu, Saudi-inspired robes, or South Asian-inspired kurtas – making sure the wearers drip with style during Aidilfitri. – April 1, 2024
