Li Jane clinches gold in PWBA Tour series meet in Illinois, US

Elite bowler knocked down a total of 5,289 pins, ahead of silver place finish with 5,221 pins

KUALA LUMPUR – National elite female bowler Sin Li Jane proved her prowess once again by clinching the gold for Malaysian at the Journal Rockford Open bowling championship at The Cherry Bowl in Illinois, United States on Saturday.

Li Jane displayed dominant gameplay throughout the tournament, which is part of the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour series, by knocking down a total of 5,289 pins in the stepladder showdown.

She outpaced Ukrainian bowler, Dasha Kovalova, who made 5,221 pinfalls to secure the silver, while US bowler Josie Barnes, downed 5,208 pins to settle for bronze.

“It was one of my goals to come back last year, but we had several major championships in Malaysia. It feels good to be back on this tour. It feels good to be back on this tour,” she said in a statement.

Earlier, Li Jane managed to maintain consistent performance over 24 games on her way to claiming the championship title in the tournament.
