KUALA LUMPUR – Independent preacher Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu has lodged a police report, urging the authorities to detain and provide psychiatric intervention for R. Puspa, the mother of late influencer Rajeswary Appahu.
This comes after Puspa lodged a report on July 12, accusing Zamri and two TikTok users of continuing to insult her daughter after her death.
She also told reporters waiting outside the station that the cyberbullying had not stopped, saying: “I have had two heart attacks, and I feel like dying myself.”

In his report lodged hours after Puspa’s at the Padang Besar police station in Perlis, Zamri said suicide was a serious matter and requested that crisis intervention officers detain Puspa to provide her with psychiatric help under the Mental Health Act 2001.
Additionally, Zamri lodged a report a day later at the same police station to tell his side of the story over Rajeswary’s cyberbullying despite claiming earlier he had nothing to do with the case.
The preacher said on May 28 that he had watched Rajeswary – better known as “Esha” – on a TikTok live stream with another individual who had made disparaging remarks about Islam.
This prompted Zamri to lodge a report against Rajeswary, which resulted in the influencer’s eventual arrest and remand at the Padang Besar police station.
He maintained that Rajeswary was involved in bullying and insulting others online.
Zamri also took the opportunity to hit back at journalists and news portals which reported on the incident.
He said a number of news portals attempted to link him to Rajeswary’s death, which he alleged was fake news.
He then urged the authorities to investigate the journalists and news sites involved in creating a “false narrative” against him.
In his lengthy report, he claims he has information that the investigating officer involved in Rajeswary’s cyberbullying case has connections to an individual who is using police to get certain “enemies” arrested.

Yesterday, Sentul police chief Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the identities of three individuals named in Puspa’s report had been established and the authorities were in the process of recording their statements.
When asked, Zamri neither confirmed nor denied that he had been contacted by police.
“Any names mentioned? If no names were mentioned, it could be you too,” he told Scoop today.
During a TikTok live stream last week, Zamri tried refuting his alleged role in the cyberbullying of Rajeswary.
Separately, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had also instructed both the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and police to take stern action and stop the prevalence of cyberbullying.
Recently, police arrested two individuals suspected of cyberbullying Rajeswary under Section 506 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the MCMC Act 1998 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
She was found dead in her home on July 5, reportedly after facing a month of online bullying.
