PMO to announce new govt chief secretary replacing Zuki Ali today: Fahmi

This comes after former official, who held the post since 2019, finished his two-year contract extension

KUALA LUMPUR – The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will announce the new chief secretary to the government later today, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.

The new appointment will replace Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali whose last day of service is on August 11, Bernama reported Fahmi saying.

The government spokesperson said the cabinet has recorded its thanks to Zuki, who was serving a two-year extension of his contract after reaching the mandatory retirement age in 2022.

Zuki held the position since 2019.

On Monday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recorded his personal thanks to Zuki at the Prime Minister’s Department’s monthly assembly, describing the latter as a “pillar of his administration”. – August 7, 2024
