KUALA LUMPUR – Businesses will be able to fully claim within two years for the purchase of ICT equipment, computer software, and consultation fees relating to the implementation of e-invoicing.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the finance minister. said this when tabling Budget 2025 today.

E-Invoicing is part of the government’s move to digitalising and automating the economy.

Towards that end, Anwar said Budget 2025 will allocate RM50 million in matching grants to help micro and small and medium enterprises embrace digitisation.

The Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will prepare a further RM100 million for a period of five years for NADI Centres nationwide to help online entrepreneurs.

In line with embracing digitalisation and automation, Anwar said that the government will implement a multi-stage levy mechanism early next year as a way to reduce dependency on migrant workers.

“The levy collected will be channelled back to businesses to facilitate the move to automation and mechanisation.” – October 18, 2024
