MACC continues grilling Vivy, Fadza over FashionValet

Couple was present at commission’s HQ again today after almost nine hours of questioning yesterday

KUALA LUMPUR – Co-founders of e-commerce platform FashionValet Sdn Bhd Datin Vivy Yusof and her husband Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar today continued to give their statements at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya. 

The couple arrived at 12.54pm and is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. 

Yesterday, Vivy and Fadzarudin spent about nine hours at the MACC headquarters, from 2.30pm to 10.30pm. 

Previously, sources told Scoop that the MACC would be questioning the couple about the documents taken from the FashionValet office. 

“(It’s) to continue asking about the documents taken that day,” the commission said briefly. 

In a written reply in Parliament recently, the Finance Ministry (MoF) revealed that Khazanah and PNB entities sold their RM47 million stake for only RM3.1 million, sparking public outrage as it involved public funds. 

According to the MoF, the sale was a responsible exit by Khazanah and PNB from FashionValet to a strategic investor. 

“The amount of loss from the sale of FashionValet shares is very small compared to the overall income generated by Khazanah and PNB in the relevant year,” the ministry said. 

On Monday, MACC took several documents related to investments in FashionValet from several locations. 

It is understood that this was done simultaneously at MoF, Khazanah, and PNB offices as well as the FashionValet headquarters in Bangsar. 

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, when confirming the matter, said that the agency had taken several financial documents following the raids at the four premises. –  November 6, 2024
