KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for strict monitoring of all development projects in Kelantan, particularly those classified as “sick projects”, to ensure they are completed within the stipulated timeframe and deliver satisfactory results.

He made the remark during the Kelantan State Development Special Meeting held at the Kota Darulnaim Complex in Kota Bharu today.

Anwar said the discussion also focused on accelerating key infrastructure efforts such as the flood mitigation plan in the state.

This, he noted, is necessary to avoid unnecessary financial losses and to prevent placing additional burdens on the people.

“During the meeting, which was also attended by the Menteri Besar, members of the State Executive Council, as well as senior federal and state officials, I highlighted the importance of strengthening and streamlining public-centric projects that are a priority, particularly for their impact on economic development and shared progress,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Also present at the meeting were Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, members of the state executive council, senior federal and state officials, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Anwar further stressed that the welfare and well-being of the people in Kelantan remain a key priority for the government and would be managed with utmost care.

The Prime Minister later attended the state-level Aidilfitri Madani celebration held at Pantai Irama in Bachok, Kelantan. – April 12, 2025
