SEREMBAN – People in Negri Sembilan have been urged to strengthen their patriotic spirit regardless of their different political ideologies ahead of the state polls on August 12.

Caretaker menteri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said in the context of facing the state polls and celebrating the national month, the love for the country should precede political differences, especially among the younger generation who are starting to perform their responsibility as voters in the upcoming elections.

“Ahead of the nomination day (July 29), all parties are racing to raise their respective flags to capture the hearts of voters, and in this context, love for the country should precede the spirit of political affiliations.

“Therefore, efforts to strengthen this unity must continue to raise awareness among youths, especially about the importance of maintaining the unity we inherited from the previous generations,” he said today at the Kibar Jalur Gemilang state-level launch ceremony.

“Therefore, efforts to strengthen this unity must continue to raise awareness among youths, particularly about the importance of maintaining the unity we inherited from our ancestors,” he stated today at the Kibar Jalur Gemilang state-level launch ceremony.

He said the voice of the youth, who will be casting votes for the first time, will shape the results of the elections.

Aminuddin said their involvement in the process of forming state and national leadership is a form of patriotism.

“Programmes such as the flying of the Jalur Gemilang also serve as a platform to inculcate the mentality and attitude of the community to recognise and respect the symbol of national identity and boost the spirit of patriotism,” he said. – July 27, 2023
