KUALA LUMPUR — Kertas siasatan membabitkan kolumnis Malaysiakini, Andrew Sia yang didakwa melabel Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) sebagai Akademi Aparteid sudah dirujuk kepada Pejabat Peguam Negara (AGC) semalam.

Perkara itu dimaklumkan Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain kepada Scoop hari ini.

Menurut beliau, tindakan itu diambil selepas pihaknya selesai mengambil keterangan daripada kolumnis berkenaan.

“Kertas siasatan dilengkapkan dan dirujuk kepada pejabat AGC pada 4 Jun (semalam). Kita masih menunggu arahan lanjut berkaitan kes itu,” katanya.

Jumaat lalu, beliau memberitahu bahawa polis sudah merakam keterangan 65 individu termasuk dua individu daripada Malaysiakini.

Malah menurutnya, semakan awal polis mendapati artikel itu dimuat naik pada 22 Mei 2024, kira-kira jam 10.30 pagi di ruangan komen portal Malaysiakini.

Kes itu diklasifikasi di bawah Seksyen 504 Kanun Keseksaan dan Seksyen 14 Akta Kesalahan Kecil, Seksyen 233 Akta Komunikasi dan Multimedia 1988.

Penulisan Sia bertajuk ‘Our apartheid academy, UiTM’ yang turut mempersoalkan adakah UiTM harus dinamakan semula sebagai ‘Universiti Tempat Melayu’ itu mencetuskan ketidakpuasan hati ramai, termasuk Ketua Pemuda Umno, Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh. – 5 Jun, 2024
