KUALA LUMPUR – Sindiket pengedaran dadah di Johor tumpas selepas seorang lelaki berusia 44 tahun ditahan polis pada Khamis lalu.

Ketua Polis Daerah Iskandar Puteri, M Kumarasan berkata, suspek ditahan dalam satu serbuan di sekitar tepi laluan keluar premis stesen minyak dekat Gelang Patah, Johor kira-kira jam 9.30 pagi, 13 Jun lalu.

Menurutnya, suspek ditahan bersama sejumlah dadah dan semakan mendapati lelaki itu mempunyai rekod jenayah lampau berkaitan narkotik.

“Hasil saringan ujian air kencing mendapati suspek negatif dadah,” katanya dalam kenyataan, hari ini.

Beliau berkata, siasatan awal mendapati modus operandi kegiatan sindiket itu adalah menjadikan beg galas sebagai tempat penyimpanan dadah sebelum diedarkan ke pasaran tempatan.

Katanya, sindiket itu juga aktif beroperasi sejak Julai 2016.

“Dalam operasi itu, polis berjaya merampas kira-kira 3,057 gram atau 20 paket ganja bernilai RM9,300 dan menyita sebuah kereta, sebuah motosikal dan wang tunai RM90,” katanya.

Kumarasan berkata, jumlah keseluruhan nilai rampasan dadah dan sitaan bagi operasi itu adalah sebanyak RM105,390.

“Suspek direman selama tujuh hari bermula 14 Jun hingga 20 Jun ini untuk siasatan lanjut di bawah Seksyen 39B Akta Dadah Berbahaya 1952.

“Jika disabitkan kesalahan, hukuman mati atau penjara seumur hidup yang mana boleh juga dikenakan sebatan,” katanya. – 19 Jun, 2024
