KUALA LUMPUR – Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir menitahkan supaya darjah kebesaran bekas Naib Canselor Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Prof Mohd Ekhwan Toriman ditarik balik.

Pendaftar Darjah,  Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim dalam satu kenyataan memberitahu, pengurnian Darjah Setia Bakti Negeri Sembilan (D.B.N.S) yang membawa gelaran Datuk pada 14 Januari 2019 itu ditarik balik berkuat kuasa serta merta.

“Keputusan ini bertujuan menjaga kebesaran dan kehormatan institusi diraja di Negeri Sembilan,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Pada 4 Februari lepas, media melaporkan Mohd Ekhwan mengumumkan meletakkan jawatan sebagai Naib Canselor UKM.

Beliau kali pertama dilantik bagi jawatan itu pada 1 Januari 2021 hingga 31 Disember 2023 sebelum perkhidmatannya disambung semula.

Mohd Ekhwan turut memaklumkan satu laporan polis dan Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (MCMC) telah dibuat berhubung fitnah dan tohmahan yang dilemparkan kepadanya. – 12 Februari, 2025
