Earlier today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in multiple districts across several states – including Selangor. The warning is expected to last until 4pm today.

Malaysia is now entering a monsoon transition phase throughout the west coast of the peninsula, particularly affecting the Klang Valley. These conditions are expected to continue until the end of May.

The highest rainfall on the west coast of the peninsula typically occurs in April and May. In contrast, the east coast, along with Sabah and Sarawak, tend to experience lower rainfall rates during the same period. – April 18, 2024
