A bunting with the official portrait of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah decorates a streetlight in Kuala Lumpur. The city’s skyline can be seen in the background, with the iconic KL Tower standing tall and proud.

KL is seen to be lined with the buntings in conjunction with the installation ceremony of the 17th Yang d-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim on June 20. Pre-ceremony events will begin July 18 with Yassin and prayer recitations at Masjid Negara, and will officially end on July 27 with a royal tea party at the palace.

The public will have the chance to see the Royal Regalia, which will be carried ceremoniously by the “Panglima”, “Hulubalang” and “Dang Perwara” at Istana Negara. – July 15, 2024
