Elmina crash: MOH awaiting reports from agencies involved

From conducting forensics to providing psychosocial services, the Ministry of Health is involved in all aspects of helping alleviate the tragedy

3:55 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) is awaiting reports from the agencies involved in the investigation of the private jet that crashed near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam yesterday.

Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni said that in that regard, MOH is always ready to assist in the operations and provide assistance to the families of the victims.

“We will carry out forensics, and are still waiting for the reports (from the agencies involved). We will announce all the reports once they are ready.

“We also provide psychosocial services to help the families of the victims,” he said, when commenting on the latest developments related to the tragedy.

Yesterday, a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) aircraft crashed on the Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina, resulting in the death of 10 individuals.

The aircraft departed from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm, heading to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.

The crash claimed the lives of 10 people including Pahang Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman Datuk Seri Johari Harun.

Eight of the victims were six passengers and two crew aboard the light aircraft, while the other two were a motorcyclist and a car driver who happened to be passing by the crash site. – August 18, 2023
