SHAH ALAM – Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has reduced his state portfolios from seven to five in his second term.
In an announcement today, the menteri besar said he is in charge of Land and Natural Resources, Finance and Economy, Modernising and Digitising Government, Strategic Communications, and Education and Human Capital Development.
Of the other 10 excos, only two are women – second term Bandar Utama rep Jamaliah Jamaluddin (Public Health and Environment), and first-time rep Anfaal Saari (Taman Templer) chairs the Women Development and Community Welfare committee.
Jamaliah’s portfolio also includes Climate Change and Green Technology while Anfaal is overseeing Women and Family Empowerment, Welfare and Care Economy.
Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han is exco for Trade Investment and Mobility committee, which oversees the Investment and Trade, SME Development, New Economic Districts and Selangor Mobility (previously public transport) portfolios.
Pandan Indah rep Izham Hashim is the Infrastructure and Agriculture exco, tasked with Infrastructure Development, and Modernisation of Agriculture and Farming portfolios.
Tanjung Sepat rep Borhan Aman Shah is exco for Housing and Culture, in charge of Housing and Development of Sustainable Cities, and Culture, Heritage, and Malay Customs portfolios.
Meanwhile, Sekinchan’s Ng Suee Lim is overseeing Local Government and Tourism exco, which includes the development of new villages.
Kota Anggerik assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi is Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship exco, tasked with Youth and Sports Development, Entrepreneurship Empowerment and Creative Economy, and Disaster Management portfolios.
First-time rep V. Pappa Raidu (Banting) is the exco for Human Resource and Poverty Eradication, which includes the Minority and Indigenous Affairs portfolio.
Seri Setia assemblyman Mohammad Fahmi Ngah is made Islamic Affairs and Cultivation of Innovation exco, which includes Halal Industry, and Digital Infrastructure portfolios.
Sze Han, Suee Lim and Pappa Raidu are co-chairperson of the Special Committee of Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Sikh, and Tao Religions in Selangor. – August 23, 2023
