KUALA LUMPUR – A motorcyclist crashed and then his bike caught on fire near the Parliament building on Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar tonight.

Traffic on the motorway had to slow down as the fireball was stranded on the right lane.

The bike was totally destroyed in the fire and the rider suffered light injuries to his hand.

Firefighters from Sentul fire station were dispatched and arrived at the scene at 8.39pm and managed to put out the blaze 12 minutes later.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Rozihan Anwar Mamat confirmed the incident.

“Yes it is a motorcycle that is on fire. The rider lost control of the bike and crashed.
