Chief secretary announces reshuffle of ministry sec-gens 

Move involves transfer of four heads, one new appointment

PUTRAJAYA – Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali has unveiled a reshuffle for the top posts of several ministries and departments. 

In a statement, he said this involved the transfer of four chief secretaries to new ministries and the appointment of a new chief secretary.  

The changes are set to take effect starting tomorrow. 

Under this restructuring, Datuk Seri Zaini Ujang, formerly human resources secretary-general, is transferred to the Health Ministry, while Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, the outgoing secretary-general, is headed to the Defense Ministry. 

The Investment, Trade, and Industry Ministry (MITI) will see a new leadership with the appointment of Hairil Yahri Yaacob, currently serving as the deputy secretary-general of MITI. 

Meanwhile, the former domestic trade and cost of living secretary-general, Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof, will assume the post in the Unity Ministry, while his predecessor Datuk Noridah Abdul Rahim has been named as the director-general of the Federal Territories Department. 

“I wish you well and congratulations on this appointment,” Mohd Zuki said.  

“I believe in the ability of the appointed officers to continue to drive the excellence of their respective ministries and agencies in making the Madani Malaysia agenda a success.” – September 25, 2023
