Door-to-door fundraising for Palestine, no exemptions even if just 10 sen: Negri MB

SEREMBAN – Village heads under Negri Sembilan’s Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) will be going door-to-door to help raise funds for Palestine, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He added that the JPKK chairmen and secretaries have been tasked to collect funds as a show of solidarity for the Palestinian people.

“I hope that 1.2 million people in the state will make this a priority. This is a commitment that we want to show so no residents in the state are exempted from donating, even if it is only 10 sen or RM1,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama after a JPKK event, here today.

In his speech, Aminuddin advised Malaysians to take heed of the situation in Palestine and emulate the fighting spirit shown despite Israel’s threats and the loss of lives.

Meanwhile, a total of 394 state JPKK chairmen and 394 secretaries have been appointed today.

The menteri besar said these leaders need to take note of the needs of their community and be the eyes and ears of the government regardless of political or ethnic differences.

Previously, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim proposed in the 2024 Supply Bill that the government pledged RM10 million to the new Palestine Humanitarian Fund set up under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). – October 27, 2023
