KAJANG – Former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Datuk Mohammad Agus Yusoff has revealed to the police the identity of “Mr H” – the alleged mastermind behind the supposed doctored video call between Agus and J-Kom junior staffer Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani.

He also said he lodged a police report against Raja Petra Kamarudin after the blogger alleged that J-Kom training division director Muhamad Hakim Ramlee was Mr H.

Agus, who spent close to three hours at the Kajang police headquarters, told the press waiting outside that he met with the investigation officer and completed his statement to the police.

“I’ve finished giving my statement to the police. I also revealed who Mr H is and will leave it to the police to investigate.”

Last week, Wahab admitted in a press conference to recording their conversation for one Mr H within the agency for the purpose of entrapment.

Wahab, 33, who began working at J-Kom on November 1, alleged that Mr H was the mastermind behind the viral clip of the video call that shows Agus making lewd remarks.

However, Wahab, who has four children, said the conversation in the video was fabricated by “irresponsible parties” trying to tarnish Agus’ reputation, and did not reflect the actual chat.

He added that Mr H instructed him to record a conversation with Agus to frame the latter.

Neither Wahab nor Agus would elaborate on who Mr H is other than that the person worked in J-Kom.

Similarly, Agus said he filed a police report on the incident on November 17.

Agus, who was appointed by the unity government as J-Kom director-general at the Prime Minister’s Office in February, tendered his resignation on November 16, saying he received an offer for a different job, and not due to any pressure.

His resignation followed criticism of J-Kom’s lacklustre performance of its mandate to disseminate government information, and after the leaked clip of the video call surfaced.

Meanwhile, Agus said the police report he lodged against the blogger was after a TikTok clip was circulated containing personal details of him and his family.

“The video clip showed the initial police report I lodged. With this, my personal information is exposed and will bring danger to me and my family.”

Agus arrived at the Kajang district police headquarters at 2.05pm today, accompanied by lawyers Faizal Rahman and Zaflee Pawanteh, and left the premises at 5.30pm. – November 20, 2023
