KUALA LUMPUR – Opposition lawmaker Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang-PN) used today’s Dewan Rakyat session to verify news of him supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the government.

Before asking his question during the Prime Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat, Azizi also affirmed that he was still loyal to Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“I verify here that, as shown in the (Dewan) screen above, I am a PN MP.

“I also verify the statement issued (that I support the government). I admit that the statement came from me without any elements of force,” he briefly addressed the August House today before being instructed by Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul to proceed with his question.

Earlier this month, Azizi announced his support for Anwar, aiming to enhance economic recovery and alleviate the financial burdens of the people.

In a press statement, he said he made the decision after hearing and studying Supply Bill 2024, which was tabled in October.

Subsequently, Azizi said he intended to sue Bersatu information chief Razali Idris after the latter alleged that his support for Anwar came after an inducement.

Besides Azizi, Jeli MP Zahari Kechik, Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, and Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman also declared support for Anwar. – November 21, 2023
