She also thanked wellwishers who prayed for her, while apologising for not responding sooner

KUALA LUMPUR – The mother of autistic murder victim Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin has apologised to friends and wellwishers for her inability to respond to their messages.

Posting her message through an Instastory via Instagram, Ismanira Abdul Manaf, 28, said she was unable to respond to all the messages via WhatsApp and Instagram as both her husband Zaim Ikhwan Zahari, 28, and her phones remain in the possession of the police.

“Assalamualaikum everyone, I’m sorry I can’t reply to WhatsApp, DM, or call at the moment, my phone and my husband’s are still being held by the police to help with the investigation,” she said.

In the same message, Ismanira also thanked everyone who prayed for her.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t ignore it (messages). I (have now) logged into Instagram using another phone, which I borrowed from someone else.

“Thank you to everyone who prayed (for me and family), I pray that all your prayers give me strength. I am still emotionally unstable. This is the hardest test in life. Oh Allah, give me strength,” she said.

Ismanira also expressed how much she missed Zayn Rayyan following the six-year-old’s tragic murder and the subsequent discovery of his body by a stream, 100m from his house at Damansara Damai on Wednesday. 

“I will see you soon abang (Zayn), please wait for mommy, mommy misses you so much and can wait to kiss and hug you.

“Abang (Zayn) will always be mommy’s first-born till the very end, (you are irreplaceable),” she said in a caption accompanied by a picture of both mother and son, believed to be Zayn Rayyan when he was much younger.

On Thursday, police classified Zayn Rayyan’s death as murder, investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Zayn Rayyan was reported missing since noon last Tuesday in Damansara Damai, and was last seen at his home in Blok R, Idaman Apartment, Jalan PJU 10/1 Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya. – December 9, 2023
