KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) will increase its flight frequencies to meet the growth in travel demand through to March 2024 by adding 248 flights to its domestic and international network.

In a statement today, MAG said the additional frequencies are offered on both Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Terminal 1 (KUL), Subang Airport (SZB) and Penang International Airport (PEN).

“For domestic travel, Malaysia Airlines will increase flights from its main hub in KUL to Sibu from 10 to 12, Tawau from 10 to 16 and Kuching from 54 to 57 weekly.

“Additionally, Firefly flights from PEN to Kota Kinabalu will increase from 14 to 15, Langkawi (LGK) from 10 to 11 and from SZB to LGK from 12 to 13 weekly,” it said.

Meanwhile, MAG said international flights from KUL to Sydney will increase from 14 to 18, Melbourne from 14 to 17, Amritsar from two to four, Cochin from six to seven and Narita from 12 to 14 weekly.

“Malaysia Airlines will be increasing flights from its hub in KUL to key domestic destinations with an increase of three additional flights each to Kota Bharu and Alor Star, eight to Sandakan, nine to Sibu, one to Tawau and two to Kuching,” it said.

MAG said that for the Chinese New Year festive period, the airline will increase flights for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route by two weekly, elevating the frequency from 56 to 58, specifically from February 7 and February 8, 2024. – December 11, 2023
