[UPDATED] Report Covid-19 positive cases on MySejahtera, urges Dzulkefly

No need to check in on app when entering eateries, clarifies health minister

5:59 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry will again be relying on the MySejahtera app to track Covid-19 cases in the country as part of efforts to curb the spread of infections, said minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He stressed the importance of the public reporting their Covid-19 positive status on the app to ensure that the ministry is able to properly track the relevant data.

“As part of the TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform and Seek) method to control the spread of Covid-19 infections, the public must be sure to report their positive status on the MySejahtera app,” the minister said at a press conference in Putrajaya.

“This is very important. If the public does not report their positive status, then there will be underreporting of positive cases, causing the ministry’s numbers and matrix to (become) invalid.”

MySejahtera can also be used for the public to make appointments to secure booster shots, and also for those infected to conduct home-based assessments, he added.

Although MySejahtera remains an important tool in controlling the spread of Covid-19, Dr Dzulkefly said it will not be necessary for users to check in via the app at eateries, as was previously practised during the pandemic.

He also reiterated that the digitalisation of the nation’s healthcare system in dealing with Covid-19 will be conducted through the app.

“MySejahtera is once again becoming a very important backbone that will encompass and move all healthcare management systems in a digital format.” – December 18, 2023
