Jalan Boh is temporary closed for repairs until February 2 at the earliest

KUANTAN – Jalan Boh in Cameron Highlands will be closed until February 2 due to a landslide which has made the road impassable in both directions.

The Pahang Public Works Department (JKR), in a notice said Section 0.70 of the road which connects Habu town to the Boh Tea Estate will be closed for this period to remove mud and repair the road that was damaged in the landslide which occurred on Friday.

“The road closure is essential to guarantee the safety and convenience of users,” it said in a statement.

However, it added that the February 2 deadline is an estimate, and would depend on the progress of repair works.

There is also no alternative road, as Jalan Boh is the only tarred road that branches off from Jalan Tapah-Cameron Highlands (Federal Route 59) leading to the Boh Tea Estate in Habu. Jalan Boh also serves as the only access for several farms located in that area. – January 21, 2024
