Public’s view on KL Local Plan 2040 to be considered before 2025 gazettement: Zaliha

Public feedback sessions over the next month will gauge citizens’ concerns over the city’s development

3:20 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 (KLLP2040) is poised to undergo a comprehensive review, taking into account feedback from various stakeholders, including residents, before its scheduled gazettement in 2025.

To actively engage with the public and capture their voices and aspirations, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the public feedback sessions will start from tomorrow.

These sessions will be conducted at multiple locations and are accessible digitally through the official website, where individuals can obtain information about the plan and submit their input.

“The public feedback session can also be accessed on our website. (People) can digitally obtain information (about the plan) and provide their input.

“Otherwise, we will also carry out physical (sessions), and we really encourage (people to participate),” she told reporters after launching the plan’s draft at Bandar Tun Razak today.

Citizens are invited to share their input over the next month, with the possibility of extending the period to three months to ensure a comprehensive collection of information from stakeholders.

The draft serves as the fundamental framework for the city’s development plans, aligning with its vision and mission for 2023.

It specifically addresses proposed land use zoning and the intensity of developments on each land lot.

Starting January 31 until March 1, the public can access the draft at Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) or at upcoming “moving exhibitions” that will traverse the city.

Interested individuals can share their views during these exhibitions or visit the dedicated website at https://ppkl.dbkl.gov.my/e-pandangan/. – January 30, 2024
