‘Hot Daddy’ case: six women being slapped with charges today

They are among 20 women allegedly involved in promoting sexual content online

KUALA LUMPUR – The six women recently arrested over the controversy surrounding a local man nicknamed “Hot Daddy” are being slapped with charges of promoting sexual content online.

The group, which is among a total of 20 women allegedly involved in a series of sex videos peddled by the man, is facing charges at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court today, local media reported.

The six were reportedly featured in lewd recordings with the man, whose real name is Hasli Ikhwan Arif Zul Hasli, and who was thrust into the spotlight after his explicit content exploded on social media.

Last week, the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the women, aged between 21 and 36, under the second phase of Op Daddy, to assist in investigations to track other individuals involved.

Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said all of the encounters by the women and the man were voluntary and that there was no element of coercion.

Last week, Hasli and his two girlfriends, Norhidayah Mahadi, 24, and Norshazrina Md Zamri, 27, were jointly charged at the sessions court with promoting prostitution services on X (formerly Twitter) under the @HOTDADDYYXX profile.

Bukit Aman’s Anti-Vice, Gambling, and Secret Societies Division (D7) discovered the promotion of the online content at its office on January 16.

The trio is accused of violating Section 372 (1)(e) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and the possibility of caning and fines upon conviction. – January 31, 2024
