Anwar joins CNY festivities at MCA open house

KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the MCA Chinese New Year 2024 reception at the party headquarters today. 

Also present was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman. 

Anwar was welcomed by MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, alongside a lion dance performance.

As a symbolic celebration of the festival, Anwar, together with MCA and BN leaders also took part in the “yee sang” tossing ceremony.  

Wee also presented a souvenir to the Prime Minister. 

Also present at the open house were former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Umno deputy president and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, Pahang Chief Minister Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, MCA deputy president Datuk Mah Hang Soon, and MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M.
