Thunderstorms, heavy rain in nine states until 7pm today: MetMalaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted thunderstorms and heavy rain in nine states until 7pm today. 

The warnings, issued at 4.30pm today, have been disseminated across its official social media pages on various platforms. 

The affected areas include major towns in Perak such as Kerian, Larut, Matang, Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim.  

Melaka, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya are also affected. 

Other regions experiencing the impact include Pahang specifically Cameron Highland, Raub, and Bentong; Negri Sembilan covering Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin; as well as Kuching, Serian, Sibu, and Miri (Beluru) in Sarawak. 

Moreover, towns in Johor, namely Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, and Johor Bharu, are also anticipated to experience adverse weather conditions, including heavy rains and thunderstorms. – February 21, 2024
