Bukit Aman CID deputy director named new KL police chief

He replaces Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, who held post for a little over six months

4:08 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa is set to take on the role of Kuala Lumpur police chief, effective March 25.

With the appointment, Rusdi will now hold the rank of commissioner of police.

In a statement, Bukit Aman police secretary chief Alzafny Ahmad said the deputy police chief of Penang, Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, will fill Rusdi’s current position.

Rusdi replaces incumbent police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, who held the post for a little over six months after being sworn in on August 13 last year. It is understood that Allaudeen has to undergo mandatory retirement by April this year.

Allaudeen was the successor to Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, who is currently Bukit Aman’s CID director.

Other new appointments include Penang police chief Datuk Khaw Kok Chin as the new Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director.

Khaw will replace Datuk Seri Mohd Kamarudin Md Din, who has been appointed as Bukit Aman Homeland Security and Public Order Department Special Action Unit commander. – February 22, 2024
