10:10 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Two Chinese nationals – Yang Chenguang, 29, and Li Xiao Wei, 45 – were charged in court yesterday for helping three people sneak into Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert.

Yang was accused of distracting a security guard at a Singapore Sports Hub entrance on March 4. Li was said to have kept the turnstile open for three of the four trespassers.

The trio are Shangguan Linmo, Hu Zhijun and Yang Junhao.

Yang and Li have been remanded and will be back in court on March 13.

According to reports, there is a third man involved who has yet to be charged and another trespasser.

If convicted of cheating, the accused could be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.

Of the group, two men and two women, aged between 21 and 25, are also being investigated for criminal trespass, reported Straits Times.

Upon conviction, the offender could be jailed for up to three months, fined up to SG$1,500, or both.

Swift is performing at the 60,000-capacity venue on March 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. More than 300,000 tickets were sold, with a large number of fans going to Singapore for the concerts. – March 7, 2024
