Police confirm boy was found unconscious, later pronounced dead by medical officer

8:20 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – A 12-year-old boy has tragically died after reportedly falling from the 12th floor of a flat in Cheras this afternoon.

Cheras district deputy police chief Ridzuan Khalid stated that the victim was found unconscious on the grass beneath the flat by members of the public at 1.52 pm.

Ridzuan stated that the boy was later confirmed dead by a medical officer from Tuanku Muhriz Chancellor Hospital, who arrived at the scene with the police team.

“Initial investigations revealed no criminal elements were found in the incident, and the case is classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement last night.

He added that police will conduct further investigations into the incident, and members of the public with information about the case should contact Cheras police station chief, inspector Toh Chee Haur, at 03-9205-0301 ext. 302. – March 8, 2024
