Dhia Batrisyia: cops take statements from five people on 12-year-old’s disappearance

Student has been missing since last Tuesday after a reported argument with her mother

3:57 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Police have recorded statements from five individuals in connection with the disappearance of 12-year-old Siti Dhia Batrisyia Mohd Chairil Anuar since last Tuesday.

Dang Wangi district police chief, Noor Dellhan Yahya, confirmed that the individuals comprised family members and friends of the child.

“Police have recorded statements from five individuals, who are family members and friends of Dhia Batrisyia; however, there has been no development thus far,” he told Scoop.

Earlier, Scoop reported that Dhia had been missing since last Tuesday, when she failed to return home after allegedly having a disagreement with her mother on the evening of the incident.

The child’s mother, Syarifah Rosfazila Syed Muhammad Fazili, 41, recounted that the last time she was with her eldest child was at their residence in Flat Sri Selangor, Jalan San Peng, around 4pm.

According to her, a disagreement arose between them after she received a WhatsApp message from Dhia’s school teacher, informing her that Dhia had not attended school that day.

After Dhia returned home in the evening on the same day, Syarifah Rosfazila questioned her on why she hadn’t attended school. In response, Dhia said she had bought a surprise gift for her parents for their wedding anniversary. – March 16, 2024
