Enough is enough: Teenage chef reports to MCMC over sexual jokes, lewd comments on X

Danish Harraz Abd Hafiz says police report to be filed soon

KUALA LUMPUR – Teenage chef sensation Danish Harraz Abd Hafiz has lodged a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) over inappropriate online remarks hurled towards him recently.

In a post on his X account, the 17-year-old confirmed this matter while adding that a police report against the perpetrators will also be filed soon.

It is believed that these reports concern “sexual jokes” made by certain individuals on X against Danish over the last few days.

In a separate post, Danish said that a complaint was not filed earlier as he did not want to “trouble” the users, but merely wanted them to stop issuing such comments.

While Danish’s decision to respond to his detractors has been criticised by some netizens, others supported his move to voice out against the lewd comments, one of which implied that Danish might be more focused on sexual matters after having gone through puberty.

A separate posting by the same user had asserted that Danish has the “looks and platform” to be a “p** hunter,” an accusation which the secondary school student had repeatedly attempted to clarify with the user.

The user had then appeared to double down on his allegations, claiming that Danish should be the one to “prove him wrong.”

Danish first shot to fame in 2017 after he was discovered by the American-based channel Cartoon Network’s global Powfactor campaign, which reached out to include him as part of its Malaysian personalities.

Danish also became a much-beloved public icon when he formed his own charity group at just 13-years-old to provide struggling families with basic necessities during the nationwide movement control order due to the Covid-19 pandemic. – March 17, 2024
