KUALA LUMPUR – The year end grading system of TP1 to TP6 will revert to percentages and grades, according to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

It will be made accessible to parents and guardians via the Sistem Pengurusan Pentaksiran Bersepadu portal.

This is part of the ministry’s four-part curricular intervention to address the issue of dropouts.

Fadhlina said in a press conference that science and mathematics (third edition, 2017) will be used for Level 1 (Standard 1-3) students starting in the 2024/2025 academic session.

This will involve updating and reorganising the content of the existing Level I science and mathematics. The document is also shared with all primary school teachers via workshops and training.

She also said the same will be done for Bahasa Melayu and English at a later time.

“A three-month classroom assessment will be carried out for Standard 1 students to evaluate their literacy and numeracy skills. If they have not mastered reading, writing and counting skills, early intervention is needed.” – March 18, 2024
