KUALA LUMPUR – Nearly half (47.45%) of the 4,792 areas without any Central Database Hub (Padu) registration are in Selangor (1,282) and Kuala Lumpur (992).

In Selangor, the total affected areas are in the Petaling district (508), Hulu Langat (342), Sepang (119), Gombak (107), Klang (84), Hulu Selangor (72), Kuala Langat (26), Kuala Selangor (20), and Sabak Bernam (4).

According to the Economy Ministry, the majority of those not registered with Padu in Selangor reside in flats (63%), while those in KL live in condominiums (62.3%).

As for KL, the parliamentary constituencies affected are Seputeh (202), Segambut (164), Bukit Bintang (104), Cheras (82), Bandar Tun Razak (80), Wangsa Maju (79), Batu (69), Titiwangsa (68), Setiawangsa (66), Lembah Pantai (53), and Kepong (25).

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said in a statement that as of 11.59pm yesterday, 5.43 million individuals have updated their information in the Padu system.

He added that the ministry, in the next two weeks, will focus on increasing Padu registrations, especially for areas at risk of falling through the cracks.

A town hall session will be held this Saturday (March 23) at the MBSA convention centre to explain about Padu as well as help people update their information.

The deadline to update Padu is March 31, following which, the information will be used to draw up policies on government aid and subsidies.

As for other states, Sarawak has 765 affected areas, followed by Sabah (620), Johor (271), Penang (243), Kelantan (228), Kedah (157), Pahang (70), Perak (67), Terengganu (35), Negri Sembilan (8), Perlis (7), Putrajaya (5), and Melaka (2). – March 18, 2024
