Court fixes June 10 and 11 to hear Inspector Sheila’s criminal case

The police officer is charged with one count of committing public nuisance

1:09 PM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – The magistrate’s court here fixed June 10 and 11 to hear the criminal case levelled against controversial police officer, Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, better known as Inspector Sheila.

Magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan set the dates today after the prosecution, led by Hamizah Hisan, told the court that the Attorney-General’s Chamber (AGC) has not yet reached a decision regarding Sheila’s representation letter.

The magistrate also set May 16 as the deadline for the prosecution to inform the court of the AGC’s decision.

Sheila, 36, was charged on November 8 last year with one count of committing public nuisance by repeatedly honking and screaming in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Brickfields.

According to the charge sheet, Sheila’s actions on June 16 of the same year caused public distress for Nuraihan Nadzifah Ibrahim.

She is charged under Section 268 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum fine of RM400 upon conviction.

However, she filed a 20-page representation letter on February 20 of this year, seeking to have her charge dropped. – March 20, 2024
