Cops on the hunt for group of men after officer found dead in Balakong

KUALA LUMPUR – Police are tracking down a group of men believed to be involved in the death of a 34-year-old policeman in Balakong, earlier this morning. 

Addressing a press conference, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the police officer was serving as part of the Kuala Lumpur police contingent during his demise.  

“Police are searching for a group of men believed to be on location when the incident took place. It’s possible that the group was involved in the death (of the policeman).   

“The case is still being investigated. We’re waiting for the post-mortem results after the procedure is conducted this afternoon,” Hussein added.  

Earlier today, The Star reported that police personnel were found dead at a block of flats in Taman Impian Indah in Balakong, Kajang.  

The daily quoted sources claim that police received a call on the incident after the victim was found at about 3am today.  

The victim, who is said to have the rank of corporal, was allegedly stationed at the Sentul police lockup. – March 23, 2024
