KUALA LUMPUR – Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has a message for errant cops – “change or you will be chained”.

He added that there would be no compromise when dealing with misconduct among officers, following a senior Kuala Lumpur police headquarters officer being nabbed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

He also said he fully supports MACC in its investigation into the officer.

“Problematic cops have to improve their attitude or be prepared to face the consequences of their actions.

“I will not compromise with any misbehaviour in the force. I think the inspector-general (IGP) or the city police chief have received updates on the case. I have not received any response from the MACC.

“(Nevertheless), I am consistent with my views and my stance, as well as my approach. I will leave it to MACC and will support them as far as investigation is concerned,” he told reporters at a press conference at Bukit Aman, here today.

On March 24, MACC found more than RM2 million cash when they raided several premises belonging to the senior officer. – March 27, 2024
