Public servants of Grade 56 and below to receive RM500 Aidilfitri bonus

8:55 AM MYT

KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a special Hari Raya payout for civil servants and veterans.

All civil servants of Grade 56 and below will receive a RM500 Hari Raya bonus, he said this morning at the monthly assembly for staff of the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya.

Pensioners and veterans, both pensioned and non-pensioned, will receive RM250 each in festival aid.

The RM500 bonus will also be given to civil servants on contract, added Anwar, who is also finance minister.

He said the aid would be channelled from this Friday, ahead of Aidilfitri, which is expected to fall on April 10.

“I’ve instructed the Treasury so that the aid will be channelled starting April 5,” he said, drawing loud cheers from staff present at the assembly. – April 1, 2024
