KUALA LUMPUR – Traffic on the roads leading out of the capital eastwards is slow-moving this morning, with congestion building up on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK).
A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman said there was heavy traffic between Gombak and Genting Sempah, with vehicles in a long queue for about 17 km from the Gombak toll plaza, Bernama reports.
LLM also posted on X at 10:20am that traffic onwards from Genting Sempah to Bukit Tinggi, and from Bukit Tinggi to Lentang was also slow-moving.
Heading north, traffic is also slow from Slim River to Sungkai and from the Menora Tunnel to the Sungai Perak RnR, the LLM spokesman told Bernama.
Traffic from Bidor northwards to Tapah is also sluggish.
Within the capital, traffic is also slow as more people embark on their homebound journeys for the Aidilfitri holiday.
According to Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) traffic watch centre, traffic is slow on Jalan Istana until the National Museum, and from Bandar Tasik Selatan to Desa Tun Razak as well as in the opposite direction.
There is also congestion at the Sungai Besi toll plaza as vehicles leave the city before hitting the highway. – April 6, 2024
