Shooting victim underwent a successful surgery on his injuries yesterday

KUALA LUMPUR – The bodyguard who was shot while protecting travel agency owner Farah Md Isa at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Sunday is still under sedation and unconscious after undergoing surgery at Cyberjaya Hospital yesterday.

Muhammad Nur Hadith Zaini, 38, is currently receiving treatment in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) and is being closely monitored by doctors, following surgery for small intestine injuries and organ examinations due to abdominal injuries from the shooting incident, said his wife, Siti Noraida Hassan, 38, when contacted by Scoop earlier.

She said that her husband is experiencing slight issues with his kidneys and spleen after the surgery, and the medical team has advised a monitoring period of five to six days to assess the health of his intestines.

“My husband is still under sedation and being monitored by doctors.

“At the moment, his kidneys and spleen are having issues, so I’m not sure whether to say he’s stable or critical.

“So far, only close relatives and I are allowed to visit,” she said.

Previously, Scoop reported that the bodyguard was severely wounded after being shot by Hafizul Harawi, 38, the suspect in a shooting incident that occurred at 1.30am last Sunday.

Based on investigations, the suspect intended to shoot his own wife, who was waiting for the return of Umrah pilgrims at KLIA, when one of the bullets strayed and hit the victim.

According to reports, the suspect fired two shots in total in the direction of his wife. – April 18, 2024
